A stunning retreat for alpacas, animals and visitors

Due to serious amounts of snow and ice on our site this morning, the runways are unsafe. We have decided therefore to close for the weekend (10th & 11th January); we apologise for any inconveniences this may cause.

Our sanctuary

We provide sanctuary to rabbits and guinea pigs predominantly; however our Shetlands, goats, ducks and pugs have all been provided with sanctuary at Mayfield Alpacas.

Located in the beautiful Mayfield Valley

Our stunning site in the Mayfield Valley is home to 35 Alpacas and a variety of other farm animals and species.

Whilst providing a unique venue for family trips out, with an educational and rural twist, our themed children’s party events and animal experiences are amongst the best available. At Mayfield Alpacas we also provide sanctuary to a diverse range of animals of varying shapes and sizes.

As well as our Alpacas, we have a range of other animals you can meet including a Llama called Princess, Shetland ponies, pigs Malcolm, Alan and Pinky, Ducks, Cockerels, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and more.

Our story

How it all started

Elaine Sharp began breeding Alpacas in 1998 as a distraction from her ongoing cancer treatment. These unusual creatures quickly caught the public's interest and in 2001 Mayfield Alpacas was established.

Had a fantastic time at Mayfield Alpaca Farm. The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. All the animals look well cared for and have plenty of space. I highly recommend the 1.5 hour experience with the alpacas. Peter was an excellent guide, very pleasant and knowledgeable about all the animals....
