Refund Policy
Introduction
This Refund Policy sets out the circumstances in which refunds will be issued for experiences, parties, and other services booked with Mayfield Alpacas ("we", "us", "our"). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read alongside them.
By making a booking, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.
Cancellation by You
More than 48 hours before your Experience
If you cancel your booking more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time of your Experience, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
Less than 48 hours before your Experience
If you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, no refund will be issued. This is because we will have prepared for your visit, allocated staff, and the booking slot will likely no longer be resellable at short notice.
In these circumstances, we may at our discretion offer you the opportunity to reschedule to another date, subject to availability. Any rescheduling is offered as a goodwill gesture and is not guaranteed.

Please include your booking reference, the name on the booking, and the date and time of your Experience. Cancellations are effective from the time we receive your request.
No-Shows and Late Arrivals
If you do not arrive for your Experience, or arrive too late to participate (in our reasonable judgement), no refund will be issued. Please plan your journey to allow for traffic and arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Cancellation or Changes by Us
In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel or significantly change your booking. This may be due to severe weather, animal welfare considerations, staff illness, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where we cancel or significantly change your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of:
- Rescheduling to an alternative date, subject to availability, or
- A full refund of the amount paid
We are not liable for any additional costs you may have incurred (for example, travel, accommodation, or party catering arranged separately) as a result of a cancellation or change made by us.
Weather
Mayfield Alpacas is largely an outdoor experience. We operate in most weather conditions, including light rain, and we do not issue refunds simply because the weather is not what you had hoped for. Please dress appropriately for the British weather.
We will only cancel due to weather if conditions become genuinely unsafe (for example, high winds, snow, ice, or storms). In such cases, the cancellation terms above apply.
Children's Birthday Parties
Children's birthday party bookings require significant preparation and the allocation of dedicated staff, food, and party materials.
- Cancellations more than 14 days before the party: full refund
- Cancellations between 7 and 14 days before the party: 50% refund
- Cancellations less than 7 days before the party: no refund
We will, where possible, offer to reschedule party bookings as an alternative to cancellation, subject to availability.
If specific party-related goods (such as themed party bags or custom catering items) have already been ordered or prepared, the cost of these may be deducted from any refund due.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are non-refundable once purchased. They are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are transferable. Bookings made using a gift voucher are subject to this Refund Policy in the usual way - cancellations more than 48 hours in advance will result in the voucher being reinstated for the remainder of its original validity period.
Refusal of Entry or Removal from Site
No refund will be issued where a Guest is refused entry or asked to leave the farm due to:
- Disruptive, abusive, intoxicated, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour
- Failure to follow staff instructions
- Behaviour that puts our animals, staff, or other visitors at risk
- Breach of our Terms and Conditions
How Refunds Are Processed
Where a refund is due, we will process it to the original payment method used for the booking. Refunds are typically processed within 5 to 10 working days. The time taken for the refund to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer.
Your Statutory Rights
This Refund Policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (which include a 14-day cooling-off period for some online purchases) do not apply to contracts for leisure services provided on a specific date or within a specific period, which includes our Experiences.
