We currently have 32 Alpacas on our farm. There are two types of Alpaca at Mayfield, Huacaya and Suri. Huacaya’s have a shorter dense coat and come in 22 natural colours from white through fawns and browns to jet black. Suri’s have a longer coat which when fully grown hangs down in a dreadlock style. Can you pick out the difference?

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Zorro
Zorro is our Rose Grey Stud male and has one of the finest fleeces in the UK. The quality of Alpaca fibre is measured in microns and is finer than cashmere. Zorro can be seen strutting his stuff around the Mayfield Alpaca farm and is always up for a bit of a petting!
