Elaine Sharp began breeding Alpacas in 1998 as a distraction from her ongoing cancer treatment. These unusual creatures quickly caught the public's interest and in 2001 Mayfield Alpacas was established. The business went from strength to strength in 2004 was awarded a business of the year award, locally and then nationally.
In 2006 a small coffee shop was opened. Due to public demand other species were introduced. Nowadays as well as our Alpacas, we have a range of other animals you can meet including a Llama called Princess, Shetland ponies, Pigs Malcom and Alan, Ducks, Cockerels, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and more.
The Paddock Coffee Shop offers a warm welcome and great food whether you are visiting our animals or just want to relax. We have a range of hot and cold drinks plus savory dishes and sweet treats. Our visitor attraction is based on the outskirts of Sheffield, with easy access from Chesterfield, Rotherham and Derbyshire.
